Puerto Vallarta has everything! The city that once was colonized by Spain has emerged itself to be one of the mega tourist spots in Mexico. Resting on the Bay of Banderas, on the Pacific Ocean side. This sleepy fishing village became a hot spot for all tourists alike; thanks to John Huston's film "The Night of Iguana" that helped put this city on the map.

I am not going to get into the history of this city. There are abundance sources all over the internet if you want to learn more about this friendly city. But, I will show you the pure beauty of the city - the beautiful colonial architecture, the cobblestone streets, the Mexican hospitality and the adventures from land to sea.

Day 1: Our trip begins at the wee hours of Sunday morning, 12 June 2011. (YES! this was last year. I finally got a time to do the review) My friend and I were both worked the night before in the casino; and without any sleep we had to go to airport for our check in. Our flight departs LAS to PVR at 8:00AM with connection flight in PHX.

Our LAS-PHX was a short flight. NO service of any kind. Are you surprised by today air travel??
With a quick stop at Starbucks and 'eye candy' we were ready for our PHX-PVR segment.

I had full intention to do a review on US Airways, but there wasn't anything to talk about. The plane was 100% full, the only service we got from PHX-PVR segment was one serving of Coke, no snacks. It wasn't even worth remembering for international service on US Airways.

However, the view from the top as we were approaching Puerto Vallarta was beautiful.

The flight was very tiring. We didn't get any sleep at all. By the time we arrived in PVR, the excitement kicked in and we both were widely awake! We booked our package with Apple Vacations, everything has been paid and arranged including our transportation to and from the airport.

This trip we'll be staying at Playa Los Arcos Hotel. I have stayed here before during my first visit to PVR back in 1998. Plya Los Arcos is one of the oldest hotels in PVR. I've chosen this for its location and the ease to access to the beach and other main attractions. And since I've stayed here before I feel as if I've returned home to where it all begins.

This is a 3 stars hotel. There is nothing fancy about it. Very simple with relax atmosphere. Everybody at the front desk was very friendly and efficiency in English.

Our room was on the second floor over looking the swimming pool and beautiful Playa Los Muerto beach.

The hall way was very narrow. If you have a big luggage, this could be a problematic.

(that was my friend on the bed, passed out from the exhaustion.)

Day 2: We woke up around 9:00 this morning and ready to explore the town. My friend never been here before so we decided to have breakfast at Fredy's Tucan, one of the best place for breakfast in town. Located on Basilio Badillo next door to Hotel Posada de Roger, Fredy's Tucan serves the best breakfast with Mexican twist.
