สวัสดีครับ

 

เพิ่งจะได้ข่าวแว่วๆจากลูกเรือเพื่อนๆร่วมเว็บแถวๆนี้ว่า การบินไทยเพิ่งเปลี่ยนการบริการอาหารชั้น Economy Class ในประเทศใหม่ เป็นของว่างแบบร้อน ก็พอดี ซื้อตั๋วเที่ยวนี้ไว้นานแล้ว ได้โอกาสมาดูว่า การบินไทยจะทำได้ดีแค่ไหน ยังไง ในทริปสั้นๆไปเชียงใหม่ครับ

 

Hi,

This of my trip report is for a return short domestic flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. I flew this route quite regularly and the flights may not be that interesting , but it actually is, due to the new inflight snack recently introduced by Thai Airways, in their effort to cut cost and I have to say that they got it right. These hot snacks are of smaller portion, but perceived to be of better quality by passenger. Other clever idea is also incorporated, which I shall mention about it later.

Checking in was done quickly, there are no queue and I got over an hour to spare

Boarding pass มา

 

I got my paper boarding pass, even if I got a digital one in my iPhone app. I think traditional one are less hassle both for me and for them.

เช็ค Gate เป็น B6 ครับ สุดมุมเลย

 

Gat for today is B6, which is a fair walk. But BKK airport is not that huge, so rest assure that we can make it in 10 minutes.

เครื่องเรามารออยู่แล้วครับ แต่ยังปิดไฟมืด ยังไม่มีความเคลื่อนไหว รอจนแทบหลับ

The aircraft is already present, but not seemed to be ready in any way. Cabin is still dark, doors remain closed and there’s no activity going on around.

สักพักก็มีรถ catering มาเทียบครับ ตอนนี้ใน Gate ประกาศว่าจะ Delay โดยจะเรียกขึ้นเครื่องประมาณ 22.00 น.

After a while, service trucks started to approach the aircraft, but gate announcement inform us of delay boarding, from 21.05 to 22.00. As so I am expecting an hour delay.

แต่เอาเข้าจริงก็ไม่ขนาดนั้นครับ แค่ 21.45 ก็ขึ้นเครื่องกันได้แล้ว

But it is not that bad actually. Boarding commenced at 21.45 instead. I hope they can compensate by quick boarding.

ในเครื่อง… คนอื่นๆจะว่าไงก็แล้วแต่ แต่ผมชอบบินเครื่องเก่าๆพวกนี้ เพราะ seat pitch จะกว้างมาก เท่าที่เคยอ่านมา มันคือ 34 นิ้วครับ สบายกว่าเครื่องรุ่นใหม่ๆที่อัด 30-31 นิ้วเอามากๆ

As you would have expected, the deployed the oldest fleet for this short haul flight.  I don’t care what other people talk about these aircraft, I love seats with 34 pitch offered in the “older generation” economy class. Give me more space instead of PTV anytime.

จากนั้นก็ได้เวลาอาหารว่าง Cart จะมาก่อนแล้วแจกกล่องแบบนี้ให้ เที่ยวบินนี้เป็น Tortilla Wrap ไส้แกงเขียวหวานไก่ จากนั้นก็จะมีถามน้ำเปล่า น้ำส้ม เดินตามมาใน 5 นาที

ซึ่งผมชอบ Procecure ใหม่นี้นะครับ อาหารน้อยลง แต่อร่อยขึ้น แล้วน้ำที่เคยมีมาให้ในกล่องสมัยก่อนบางคนก็ไม่ดื่ม เอาแบบนี้ดีกว่า ใครอยากได้อะไรหยิบเลย ไม่เอาไม่ต้องหยิบ ประหยัดไปได้เยอะโดยที่ไม่กระทบผู้โดยสาร

 

Here comes the highlight of this review. Passengers may be expecting a snack box with a few cold cut sandwiches, a piece of Thai dessert, and a sealed cup of orange juice.

However, we got this tasty warm Tortilla Wrap filled with Thai green curry. Trays of water, juice and soft drink follow shortly. I find this procedure clever as not everyone want juice, to include it in every box is wasteful

กลับมาที่นั่งอีกที เหลือเวลาอีกครึ่งชั่วโมงก็ถึง รูปแบบใหม่นี้เสิร์ฟได้เร็วดีครับ แป้บเดียวเสร็จ แป้บเดียวเก็บทิ้งได้หมด

When I return to my seat, we have 35 more minutes to go. This new procedure is really quick.
