Welcome drinks were served. Choices were between orange juice, apple juice, champagne and still water. Orange juice would do today. Then another FA distributed a cold towel. Quite refreshing.

And there was another starting its journey. TG 676 to Narita.

At exactly 8 AM, the safety demonstration started. The cabin doors were closed accordingly with a PA announcement 'cabin crew arm the doors and cross-check'.



หลังจากวิดิโอเริ่มฉายได้สักพัก เครื่องก็เริ่มทำการ pushback และคุณแอร์ก็เริ่มแจกเมนู
The aircraft was pushed back from gate concurrently, and the FA serving my side started distributing menus for the breakfast service.

มาดูเครื่องบินต่างๆ ที่ผมได้เห็นระหว่างแท็กซี่ วันนี้เราจะบินขึ้นจากรันเวย์ 19L ครับ
เริ่มจาก Tiger Airways A320 ที่เห็นขณะ pushback เที่ยวบิน TR 2102 จากสิงคโปร์ พอไปถึงแล้วจะได้เห็นอีกเพียบครับ
So let’s look at some interesting planes I saw during taxi. Starts with a Tiger Airways A320 just arrived as TR 2102 from Singapore.

ระหว่างนั้นเครื่องบินก็ taxi ออกไปเรื่อยๆ มองกลับไปก็ไม่เห็นเครื่องลำใหญ่ๆ ตามมาเลย สงสัยจะขึ้นอีกรันเวย์นึงละมั้ง
I looked back while the plane was taxiing, but I did not see that big bird following. Maybe she was assigned to another runway....



เสียงคำรามดังมาแต่ไกล หันไปดูปรากฏว่าคุณกระบี่กำลังเร่งเครื่องเต็มกำลังเพื่อบินขึ้นสู่นาริตะครับ
The roaring sound became progressively louder. I turned my head and saw “Krabi” powering down the runway before lifting off to Narita.

มองกลับไปที่ตัวอาคารอีกครั้งก็เห็น ANA 767 กำลัง pushback เตรียมออกเดินทางไปนาริตะเช่นกัน เที่ยวบิน NH 954 ครับ
Turned back to the terminal again and saw an ANA 767 being pushed back. NH 954 to Narita.

แถมด้วยเครื่องของ Transaero อีกสองลำ ตอนนี้ยังหน้าฝนอยู่เลยยังมีเที่ยวบินไม่เยอะ อีกไม่กี่เดือนเที่ยวบินจะมากขึ้นเป็นทวีคูณ
And there was other 2 Transaero 767s. This airline operates quite a number of flights to Bangkok even in low season. Just wait for a few months and the flights will multiply, bringing staggering amounts of Russian tourists to Thailand.

แล้วก็มาถึงสายการบินสีส้มๆ U Airlines นี่เอง ทะเบียนยังใช้ HS-CTA แสดงถึงเจ้าของเดิม (ที่ควรจะเป็น) อยู่เลยนะครับ (ถึงจะไม่ใช่เครื่องลำเดิม) แอบแปลกใจเล็กน้อยเพราะจำได้ว่าทีมข่าวเคยทำเรื่องการเปิดตัวสายการบินนี้..ที่ดอนเมือง
Then the bright orange airplane came into view. It was U Airlines’ first and only A320, registered as HS-CTA (which somehow reflects the history of this airline, even though it is not the same aircraft). I was a bit surprised since I read the news regarding the debut ceremony of this airline, that was held at Don Mueang.

The cargo terminal came into view. We would be taking off soon.

ในที่สุด ก็ได้เวลาที่เครื่องยนต์ Roll-Royce 892 ทั้งสองเครื่องจะพาผมและผู้โดยสารอีกสามร้อยกว่าคนขึ้นสู่ท้องฟ้า เป็นการเทคออฟที่ยาวนานใช้ได้ทีเดียว วิ่งกันเกือบสามกิโลกว่าจะบินขึ้นไปได้ O_o
And now it was time for the two Rolls-Royce 892 engines to take me and other 300 passengers to the sky. It was a spectacularly long take-off roll, used almost 3 kilometers of the western runway.

แล้วเครื่องก็ไต่ระดับขึ้นไปอย่างช้าๆ ท่าทางจะหนักน่าดู ข้างล่างนั่นคือถนนเทพารักษ์ครับ
The plane climbed, slowly but steadily, to higher altitudes. Looks like it was quite heavy. Down below me is Theparak Road which runs through Samut Prakan province in an east-west direction.



มองเห็นปากแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา
The Chao Phraya river mouth is clearly visible.



และปากแม่น้ำท่าจีนได้ไกลๆ ห่างไปประมาณ 40 กว่ากิโลเมตร
The Tha Chin river mouth is also visible, even being roughly 40 kilometers away.

จากนั้นเครื่องก็เลี้ยวซ้ายเล็กน้อยเพื่อหันหัวไปทางทิศตะวันออกเฉียงใต้สู่สิงคโปร์ ถ้าอยู่ฝั่ง A คงจะเห็นชายฝั่งทะเลภาคตะวันออก แต่ผมอยู่ฝั่งนี้เลยเห็นแต่ทะเล จนมาถึงเกาะนี้
นี่คือเกาะล้านครับ เห็นชุมชนฝั่งตะวันออกของเกาะและหาดตาแหวนทางเหนือได้ชัดเจน รวมถึงเรือนักท่องเที่ยวซึ่งมีอีกไม่รู้กี่ลำ
Then the plane gently turned southeast towards Singapore. Passengers in A seats would see the Eastern Seaboard down below. But for me, I didn’t see anything significant until this.
Situated in the middle of the turquoise blue sea, just offshore of Pattaya is Koh Larn. You can see the major settlement on the eastern shore and Ta Waen Beach at the northern edge, together with countless tourist boats.

หันกลับมาในเคบินบ้าง ทันทีที่ไฟรัดเข็มขัดดับลง คุณพี่แอร์ก็ขึ้นมารับออร์เดอร์อาหารเช้าทันที ผมจึงบอกว่าสั่งอาหารมาตั้งแต่ก่อนขึ้นเครื่องแล้ว คุณพี่แอร์ก็ตอบว่ารับทราบแล้ว อาหารได้ถูกโหลดมาเรียบร้อยครับ
ลองเปิดจอส่วนตัวดู สุดท้ายไม่รู้ทำอะไรเลยเปิดรายการโปรดอย่างแผนที่ ซึ่งค้างอยู่ที่ตำแหน่งเดิมตลอดทางจนถึงสิงคโปร์ แถมสีจอยังผิดๆ เพี้ยนๆ เลยขอไม่ดูดีกว่า ส่วนห่อผ้าห่มนั้นก็ไม่ได้ถูกแกะเลยตลอดทั้งไฟลท์ครับ
Back inside the cabin, once the fasten seatbelt sign distinguished, the crew sprang into action. They began with taking orders for the breakfast service. When she reached my row, I told her that I had ordered it already. She then confirmed to me that the ordered meal had surely been loaded.
I turned on my IFE screen, changed to the moving map (which decided to stuck at the same point until we landed in Singapore). Moreover, there was some discoloration issues with screen so I later turned it off.
Btw, the blanket cover would remain intact throughout the flight.

ขอลุกไปเข้าห้องน้ำก่อนดีกว่าครับ เดินไปข้างหลังแล้วหันกลับมามองดูเคบิน ไม่มีที่ว่างเลยแม้แต่ที่เดียว
ปรากฏว่าทางไปห้องน้ำส่วนที่ติดกับเคบินชั้นประหยัดนั้นมีรถเครื่องดื่มสำหรับ EY ขวางอยู่ ผมจึงเปลี่ยนไปเข้าข้างหน้าแทน ระหว่างนั้นก็ถามพี่แอร์ไปด้วย ได้ความว่าวันนี้ชั้นประหยัดว่างประมาณ 40 ที่ คิดเป็น LF ประมาณ 88 เปอร์เซนต์ครับ ถือว่าใช้ได้ทีเดียว
Let’s pay a quick visit to the toilet. Looks like the business cabin was completely sold out.
Then I realized that the drink cart for economy passengers was blocking the way (the FAs were about to commence drink service), so I went to the upfront one instead. I asked the economy FA and she said there were around 40 vacant seats today. So the LF was around 88 percent. That was quite decent.

พอกลับมานั่งที่ อาหารเช้าก็เริ่มเสิร์ฟพอดีครับ เริ่มจากจานผลไม้ก่อน ตามมาด้วยขนมปังต่างๆ ซึ่งผมเลือกครัวซองต์ครับ
I went back to my seat just as the breakfast service started. Starts with fruit plate and various bakeries. Croissant would do today.



จานผลไม้ประกอบด้วยแตงโมหั่นรูปหัวใจ (หวานฉ่ำดี) สัปปะรด (เปรี้ยวไปนิด) แอปเปิ้ลเขียว และองุ่นไร้เมล็ดครับ อันหลังนี่อร่อยมากๆ ผมยิ่งชอบองุ่นไร้เมล็ดด้วย
Fruit plate consisted of heart-shaped watermelon (really juicy and sweet), pineapple (a bit too sour), green apple and seedless grape.



มองออกไปข้างนอก ท้องฟ้ายามเช้าสวยดีแต่ข้างล่างเมฆค่อนข้างมาก ดูแล้วไม่รู้เหมือนกันว่าถึงไหนแล้วครับ
Took a quick gaze outside. The morning sky at 39,000 feet definitely looks gorgeous. However, low lying cloud cover prevented me from seeing the landscape.

จากนั้นคุณแอร์ก็จัดการเก็บจานผลไม้และเสิร์ฟอาหารจานหลัก พอลองเปิดดูกลิ่นหอมของข้าวหอมมะลิและสมุนไพรก็โชยขึ้นมาทันที น่าอร่อยทีเดียว จากนั้นคุณแอร์อีกคนก็จัดการเสิร์ฟเครื่องดื่ม ผมขอน้ำแอปเปิ้ล คุณแอร์จึงจัดการรินให้พร้อมน้ำเปล่าอีกแก้วครับ
The FA came around 15 minutes later to collect the (now empty) fruit plate and serve the main dish. Then another FA arrived to serve me another drink. I chose apple juice which came along with a glass of water this time.



มาดูข้าวฉู่ฉี่กุ้งที่ผมสั่งให้ชัดๆ จัดเต็มๆ กับกุ้งแปดชิ้นพร้อมข้าวหอม บร็อกโคลี่และแครอท ฉู่ฉี่เผ็ดพอประมาณ อร่อยดีครับ
Here is what I ordered. A shrimp Chu-chee with 8 shrimp, Thai rice, a piece of broccoli, and slices of boiled carrot. It was quite spicy but perfectly edible for Thais.

พอทานอาหารเสร็จและคุณสจ๊วต (ซึ่งหน้าตาเรียบเฉยมาก) มาเก็บจานอาหารแล้ว ก็ได้เวลาออกไปสำรวจเคบินต่อ เหลือเวลาบินอีกไม่ถึงชั่วโมงครับ
ถ้าจะลุกก็ไม่ต้องพับเก็บโต๊ะ ดันให้หมุนไปแบบนี้ก็ได้
After the meal service concluded, I decided to take a wider look at the cabin. There was less than an hour left before landing.
The table has a swivel mechanism so you do not have to stow it when moving out of seat.

Let’s see the toilet at the rear end. 6 toilet modules were installed here.

Looked like we had just re-entered the mainland. Here’s Pulau Redang, a resort island just offshore of Terangganu, Malaysia.

I looked upward and saw the bassinet was stored here, beneath the ceiling.

จากนั้นผมก็พูดคุยกับคุณแอร์อยู่พักหนึ่ง คุณแอร์เล่าให้ฟังว่าเที่ยวบินนี้พนักงานต้อนรับทำงานกันเหนื่อยมาก เพราะเวลาบินสั้น เหนื่อยยิ่งกว่าฮ่องกงอีกเพราะเวลาบินสั้นกว่า (แต่ผู้โดยสารไฟลท์สิงคโปร์มักจะน่ารักกว่านะ) ซึ่งก็อธิบายได้ถึงสีหน้าท่าทางเครียดๆ ของคุณแอร์ขณะเสิร์ฟได้เป็นอย่างดี เพราะจากที่เดินผ่านทั้งเคบินก็รู้สึกได้ว่าพนักงานต้อนรับไฟลท์นี้ทำงานกันมือเป็นระวิงตั้งแต่ขึ้นยันลงเลยทีเดียว คุณแอร์ยังบอกอีกว่าเสิร์ฟอาหารเช้านี่ยังยุ่งน้อยกว่าอาหารค่ำอีกนะ
นอกจากนี้ผมยังถามว่าทำงานที่การบินไทยมาได้กี่ปีแล้ว คุณพี่แอร์ก็ตอบอย่างเขินๆ ว่า 18 ปีแล้วค่ะ เครื่องแรกที่ได้ทำงานคือ A300 รุ่นเก่าโน่นเลย ผมคุยได้อีกพักหนึ่งจนเวลา 11.00 ตามเวลาที่สิงคโปร์ ไฟรัดเข็มขัดก็ติดขึ้น ผมจึงขอตัวมานั่งที่ก่อน เครื่องกำลังลดระดับลงสู่สิงคโปร์แล้วครับ
After that I had a brief chat with the FAs serving business class. One of them (who was serving my row) told me that working on this flight was very exhausting since the duration was short, even shorter than Hong Kong (but the passengers are generally nicer). That might explain her subtly stressed facial expression while serving. Besides, from the cabin walkthrough, I saw all FAs worked incessantly throughout the flight.
I also inquired a bit about how long she have have been working for TG. She said, with a blushed face, that it has been 18 years already. Her first workplace was a good old Airbus A300. What a classic.
At 11.00 Singapore time, the fasten seatbelt sign blinked. I returned to my seat consequently as the plane started to descend.
